Job Title : Nurse Manager

Description:

Under the supervision of the CNO, the nurse manager accepts 24-hour accountability and responsibility for the effective and efficient operation of the emergency department. Ensures compliance with all licensing and regulatory requirements and performs other functions in a manner consistent with the mission and goals of the organization

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

1. Demonstrates behaviors consistent with organization mission and goals.
2. Ensures patient/personal safety by maintaining a safe and therapeutic environment and adhering to Safety Program and Infection Control Programs.
3. Supports hospital and departmental Performance Improvement Goals.
4. Assures quality care through compliance with departmental policies, hospital and external regulatory guidelines and the Nurse Practice Act.
5. Accepts responsibility for assurance that quality patient care is provided consistently according to hospital and departmental standards and policies/procedures.
6. Accepts accountability and responsibility for achievement of operational and capital budget goals.
7. Accepts 24-hour accountability and responsibility for the effective operation of the assigned nursing department.
8. Maintains clinical management competency and professional growth.



POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

- Education and Training Experience Required
- Graduate of an accredited professional school of nursing; Baccalaureate degree in nursing or equivalent in experience.
- Previous charge nurse experience.
- Clinical practice within last 2-5 years.
- Current clinical practice in area of expertise.

CERTIFICATION/LICENSURE:
- RN with current licensure
