As a nurse, you can easily imagine how having a child born with a life-threatening or chronic condition would impact day to day life. In Washington state, hundreds of families face this reality.

To make a difficult situation worse, when a family is under-insured or has no insurance, they rely on the Medicaid program to help them with the medical costs. This can impact their ability to secure enough nurses to help provide the ongoing care their child needs. Let's be real, the more attractive wages offered by private healthcare organizations like hospitals keep a lot of nurses from considering home health at all. Sadly, these children stay in the hospital, often for months, waiting for agencies like ours to recruit and hire enough staff to get them discharged and on their way home.

We believe that healthcare should be available to all, regardless of their insurance status. While it can be challenging to find the right team of like-minded men and women to serve these families, the results are immeasurable.

Because helping, even if it's just one shift a week, is life-changing for these children and their families.

One day shift is 8-10 hours a parent gains to take care of themselves, spend a day at a job earning money for their family, or to spend with the other children in the home.

One night shift is a night that a parent gains to sleep in their own bed instead of on a mattress on the floor in their child's room, vigilantly listening for any sign of distress or reason for concern.

New grads or nurses looking for a change in careers often come to private duty nursing because it is truly an opportunity to get back to the roots of nursing. An opportunity to take care of someone who really needs you. It's a job with purpose and noticeable impact.

But it's also important to remember that these are children. And while they have some challenges, they are still full of life and joy and deserve to have the best chance to develop as well as they can. The love and support of their family and nurses like you give them that chance.

If you don't think you have the skills to do this, don't worry. If you have the heart, we will provide you with all of the training you need from some of the best and most experienced nurses in the State at this very special kind of nursing. This has been our mission since our company was formed by nurses in 1989. With our years of experience, we have become a valued resource for our clients, their families, and our community, as advocates and specialists in medically intensive home health care.

So, what can you help us with?

We have a boy who is about 10 months old now and he and his family just moved here from out of state to be closer to hospital services at Seattle Children's. He has a vent & trach, and G-Tube. Mom and Dad are his caregivers, but they need help! This is where skilled nurses such as yourself come in. Despite his medical difficulties, he shows normal baby behavior. He is a bit opinionated about being moved out of his comfort zone but soothes easily. He enjoys being rocked and held.

We are looking for several private duty home health nurses (RN's or LPN's) who are available for any of the following shifts:

Nights: Monday 11pm - 7am | Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday 10pm - 8am

Ready to help us make a difference in this family's life? Just use our easy application to introduce yourself and we look forward to meeting you!
